Don’t let the name fool you. Lower Puohokamoa Falls are actually some of the tallest waterfalls on the island. The 200-foot cascade is named for its proximity to Hana Highway. This hidden treasure is often overlooked by tourists because the falls cannot be spotted from the road. The base of the falls is accessible via a trail, but the path is steep and best suited for experienced hikers.

Waimoku Falls is the tallest waterfall located on the island of Maui and one of the most remote. In order to see it, you’ll either need to take a Maui air tour or hike 4 miles on the Pipiwai Trail. Along the way, you will see other impressive sights, such as the Makahiku Falls, the Seven Sacred Pools and a large bamboo forest.
